crocs (texturemedia, Boulder, Co)

Worked to launch the company's iconic shoe website. We needed to help them turn a little known "boating material" into shoes for any age and occupation.

MY ROLE

I was responsible for the entire interaction plan and managing the UX team to produce research, user interviews, prototypes, site structure, feature lists, and design/technical specifications. I worked with the client and writers to manage the content development. I contributed across teams with both graphic design and technology to insure users were championed.

USER INSIGHTS

To launch the project we interviewed both general shoe enthusiasts and people who had received and/or purchased crocs to test them in their everyday lifestyle. We presented multiple options for site style, structure, tone, and features. We found common key reasons that people loved the shoes and created a site focused on highlighting these interactions in order to build a "community of crocs" and allow people to take ownership of their response to wearing these unique shoes.

PROTOTYPYING

We tested paper pages

with users to gain key

points of focus for the interaction, content, and graphics.

INTERACTION DESIGN

Multiple rounds of sitemaps, wireframes, and features specifications were created to roadmap the graphic design and technological build out of the consumer site. Parallel sites for medical usage of the crocs products (i.e. prescribed footwear for diabetic patients), and an administration tool were all designed and built together.

DESIGN AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

Worked with graphic design team and technology to insure that all aspects of the users experience was reflected in final website.
